Welcome to our website
Welcome to the Research and Conservation Foundation of Papua New Guinea! We are a conservation, not-for-profit organisation based in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. RCF-PNG evolved out of shared concerns between researchers and Crater Mountain landowners about the declining populations of unique and rare bird species that are endemic to the area. RCF works with landowners, related government departments and local and international organisations to conserve the unique biodiversity and related cultural history of the Crater Mountain Wildlife Management Area (CMWMA).
Our mission is; “To promote and preserve the unique flora and fauna of Papua New Guinea for the people of PNG and the world to encourage, finance, assist in, and undertake research into the flora and fauna of PNG and to cooperate with institutions and persons with similar aims.”
