RCF has been working with the local community in the Crater Mountains WMA in implementing Rural Livelihoods and Natural Resource Management activities. RCF facilitates these activities by sourcing experts to work with the communities.
Within this component various activities are implemented to promote sustainable uses of resources. This includes boundaries mappings which are done in collaboration with landowners and Land use plans are also implemented by communities to promote better management of their resources in order to maintain the rich bio-diversity in the area.
RCF also facilitates rural livelihood activities through implementing activities related to Organic coffee, and vanilla husbandry, Eco-tourism and, Sale of local artifacts.
Through these Eco-friendly activities RCF intends to encourage local people in the WMA to engage in environmental friendly economic activities to promote the sustainable use of natural resources.
