Climate Change is one of those complex phenomenon we face that affects us and needs every member of society to work together to tackle it. One thing for sure is that it is changing our economy, health and communities in diverse ways. As the Earth’s climate changes, air and sea temperatures increase; giving rise to droughts, floods and storms which are becoming more frequent. The frequency of these changes affects plants, animals and the environment in general. These changes in the environment also affects people’s livelihoods. Thus, if people are empowered they can be aware of the causes of climate change and find ways to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change.
In response Research and Conservation Foundation has embarked on working with three vulnerable communities in Daulo District of Eastern Highlands Province to equip them with information and knowledge to take action to address these changes. RCF is also developing materials for schools and general public to help them understand the basic science of climate change.
